The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of Kaduna State Peace Commission (KAPECOM), Barrister Priscilla Ankut, has urged lawyers to contribute their quota in the peacemaking process in the state.

According to her lawyers are well placed, as stakeholders, to play effective roles in conflict prevention and peacemaking.

Barrister Ankut made the call while delivering a paper titled, The Role of Lawyers in Enhancing Peace in Kaduna State at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Kaduna Law Week 2019.

She reiterated the fact that the basic idea of the rule of law is to have a set of generally observed norms that bring some balance to relationships amongst individuals and groups and provide an avenue for resolving disputes and to assist in preventing conflict.
