A senior official in the UN human rights office in Dakar, Senegal, Mr. Lifongo Williams, has praised the work of the Kaduna State Peace Commission (KAPECOM).
Williams gave the commendation in remarks he made during a roundtable organized by KAPECOM at its office in Kaduna and attended by over 20 Civil Society Organization (CSOs) working for peace in the State.
Williams noted that KAPECOM was trendsetting in peacemaking, conflict mitigation, prevention, management and encouraged the commission not to relent in its efforts.
The roundtable was organized pursuant to the commission’s mandate of coordinating the activities of all stakeholders working to promote peace and conflict resolution in the state.
Speaking at the occasion, the Executive Vice Chairman of the commission, Barrister Priscilla Ankut explained that the commission would continue to partner with stakeholders, change agents, principal actors who seek to contribute to peaceful and harmonious co-existence in the state.
