Khadijah Hawaja Gambo is presently a Permanent Commissioner, Kaduna State Peace Commission.
She is an expert on gender and an active community voice. She is a student and teacher of Islam and an experienced researcher who has worked as a researcher for Volkswagen Foundation Germany in Nigeria.
She was a political and gender Advisor to Center for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) from 2012 to 2016. She was one of three researchers for the Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP) on “Gender Norms and Female Participation in Radical Movements in Northern Nigeria” research.
In 2016, she was appointed as a Commissioner in the Judicial Commission of Inquiry over the 12th -14th December 2015 clashes between the Nigerian Army and the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
She facilitated the research on Preventing Violent Extremism conducted by Club de Madrid in Nigeria (Feb. 2017) and
She is a trainer for Preventing Radicalization and Extremism Leading to Terrorism (PRELT) in Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution Peace Keeping and Peace Building (CCCPA).
She is a member of Sisters against Violent Extremism (SAVE), the Vienna Based, Women Without Borders Organization. She belongs to “Mothers School”.
She was a consultant to Presidential Committee on North East Initiative (PCNI) (2018-2019)
She was a Consultant to Operation Safe Corridor on Reintegration of the repentant BH memebers(2018).
Khadijah Hawaja is a peace building practitioner with deep knowledge of Conflict and its dynamics, Dialogue and Peace Mediation.
She has worked in resolving inter-communal conflicts in Plateau, and Kaduna.
